PubMed provides links to publishers websites to connect a citation to the actual the full text. However, unless a journal or article is available for free, patrons need to have a subscription in order to access the full text of an article. To more easily connect you to the research articles you need, the High Library has set up a customized URL to PubMed that enables a ViewIt@Etown icon to display on every record in PubMed:
The ViewIt@Etown icon will connect you to our full text holdings when the library has a subscription. When you are off campus, you will be prompted to log into the Etown network the first time you try to access an article. If the Library does not have a subscription, this same icon will connect you to ILLiad, our interlibrary loan/document delivery service so you can request a copy of the article.
When you access PubMed via the library's Databases A to Z listing, you will see a ViewIt@Etown Library icon on every record in PubMed. Another option for connecting to the library's holdings is to customize your MyNCBI account to display our ViewIt@Etown icon during your search.
